CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Rachel Contracting, LLC for the Canal Park State Disaster Shoreline Rehabilitation project for a total amount not to exceed $149,532.00, payable from fund 225-125-1822-5310-STRM1122-02 (disaster recovery fund, finance, storm surge November 2022, contract services, storm surge November 10, 2022, Canal Park Beach).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Rachel Contracting, LLC for the Canal Park State Disaster Shoreline Rehabilitation project for an amount not to exceed $149,532.00.
This project will repair and reinforce areas of the beach at Canal Park that were damaged by wind and wave action during the November 10th, 2022 storm. The scope of work includes excavation and filtering of beach material, regrading of beach rock, installing additional armor and filter stones, and restoring various displaced stones.
Funding for the project was received through State Disaster Assistance provided to St. Louis County in order to repair affected infrastructure and mitigate damage in future extreme weather.
Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on August 11th, 2023 and received four bids as listed below. Rachel Contracting, LLC submitted the lowest responsive bid. The full contract value includes additional scopes that were bid related to constructing steps and salvaging stones.
