CITY PROPOSAL: RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Hovland, Inc. for the Construction of a Salt Shed at Riley Road for a total amount not to exceed $537,365.00, payable from the following funds:

 

$275,964.40      450-030-5520-CP2019-1904B (Capital Improvements; Finance; Buildings and Structures; 40th - Salt Shed)

 

$261,400.60    450-020-5520-CP2020-2004B (Capital Improvements; Finance; Buildings and Structures; 40th Ave West)

 

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes a contract with Hovland, Inc. for the Construction of a Salt Shed at Riley Road for an amount not to exceed $537,365.00.

 

The City had originally budgeted to build a salt sheds at both 40th Avenue West and Riley Road in 2019.  Due to the actual cost being much higher than budgeted dollars, the funding for both locations were combined.  Public Works & Utilities and Property & Facilities Maintenance staff worked together and found the best and most affordable location to replace a salt shed was at Riley Road.  The salt shed at 40th Avenue West will still need to be replaced in the future as funding allows.

 

Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on August 13, 2020 and received two bids as listed below.  Hovland, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid.
