CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that Contract C22461 with Hanco Utilities, Inc. for construction of the 2015 high pressure gas mains and services be amended to include additional pipe installation work required by the city of Duluth to be completed prior to necessary city improvements in the amount of $505,946.98 for a new total of $1,560,003.19, payable from Gas Fund 520, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), city project no. 1391.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Resolution 15-0172R, passed on March 12, 2015, awarded a contract to Hanco Utilities, Inc. for construction of the 2015 high pressure gas mains and services. This resolution will amend that contract (no. C22461) to include the additional pipe installation work required by the city of Duluth to be completed prior to necessary city improvements, such as uprating neighborhoods to 66 psi for better flow and capacity to customers using natural gas through Comfort Systems. The additional amount is $505,946.98 for a new total of $1,560,003.19, payable from Gas Fund 520, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), city project no. 1391.
