Duluth Library Foundation Report April 2026

The Library Foundation Board met on March 11, 2026 in the Library Gold Room.
• The Foundation Board meeting schedule was finalized. They will now be meeting on the third Wednesday of the month, every other month.
• The Friends & Foundation MOU was approved. It was already approved by the Friends Board and will be routed for signatures.
• Officers were elected for the coming year. They are Jennifer Berges- President, Susan Goltz MD-Vice President and Bill Arezzo-Treasurer. Retiring board members Matt Rosendahl, David Moeller and Leah Fisher were recognized for their service.
• The Foundation will be attending Duluth & St Louis County Days at the capital on March 18 and 19.
• Extensive plans for National Library Week on April 19 through 25 were announced. More info will be forthcoming.
• The National Ambassador for Young Peoples Literature, Mac Barnett, will visit Duluth on May 20. This significant event will include a school visit, an educator session, a private reception and a public event. We were one of five US locations selected for the 2026 National Tour.
• Children’s section fundraising sits at about $230k of a $350k goal. Renovation updates are scheduled for September.
• A website RFP was approved and will be sent out.
• The next Foundation Board Meeting will be in May at a date to be determined as the normal date conflicts with the Mac Barnett visit.
