CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, resolution 22-0086R authorized acceptance of a Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grant in the amount of $130,100 from the Minnesota Historical Society for implementation of the Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail Interpretive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the interpretive elements funded by this grant agreement will be implemented as a component of a larger Waabizheshikana extension and trailhead improvement project, and additional time is needed for implementation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Duluth accepts the first amendment, attached as Exhibit A, to the Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grant Agreement, city contract No. 24275, with the Minnesota Historical Society to extend the expiration date to April 30, 2025.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution accepts the first amendment, attached as Exhibit A, to the Minnesota Historical and Cultural and Cultural Heritage Grant Agreement (City contract No. 24275) with the Minnesota Historical Society to extend the expiration date to April 30, 2025 for the implementation of Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail Interpretive Plan.
This first amendment only extends the term of the contract, including pushing out the date of final reporting, and does not change the amount of the grant award nor any other terms of the grant agreement.
The interpretive elements funded by this grant agreement will be implemented as a component of a larger Waabizheshikana extension and trailhead improvement project. This extension accommodates the additional time needed to coordinate the interpretive component within the larger project, and the associated state and federal reviews required for the project.
