RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A LOCAL BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM GRANT FROM THE MINNESOTA STATE TRANSPORTATION FUND FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE L8514 AT ST. ANDREWS STREET OVER TISCHER CREEK IN THE AMOUNT OF $374,958.17.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the city of Duluth has applied to the commissioner of transportation for a local bridge replacement program grant from the Minnesota state transportation fund for the reconstruction of bridge L8514 at St. Andrews Street over Tischer Creek, city project No. 1861.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amount of the grant has been determined to be $374,958.17 based on the lowest responsible bid.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city of Duluth agrees to the terms and conditions of the grant consistent with Minnesota Statutes, Section 174.50, and will pay any additional amount by which the cost exceeds the estimate, and will return to the Minnesota state transportation fund any amount appropriated for the project but not required. The proper city officials are hereby authorized execute the grant agreement and any amendments thereto, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, concerning the above referenced grant. Grant monies shall be deposited in the Permanent Improvement Fund (411) Department/Agency 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 4220-01 (State of Minnesota Capital), city project no. 1861, S.A.P. 118-080-066.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the city of Duluth to execute a grant agreement to accept Minnesota state transportation funds to reconstruct bridge L8514 at St. Andrews Street over Tischer Creek in the amount of $374,958.17. Grant monies shall be deposited in the Permanent Improvement Fund (411) Department/Agency 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 4220-01 (State of Minnesota Capital), city project no. 1861, S.A.P. 118-080-066.
