CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase cold mix asphalt from Monarch Paving Company to be used by Street Maintenance for 2025 for an estimated annual amount of $63,000.00 payable from fund 290-500-5222 (street system maint. Utility; Public Works and Utilities; blacktop).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a purchase of cold mix asphalt from Monarch Paving Company to be used by Street Maintenance for an estimated annual amount of $63,000.00.
This asphalt/blacktop will be used for temporary pothole patching and other temporary road patches during periods of time where hot mix asphalt (HMA) is unavailable to the City.
The Purchasing division issued a request for quotes on January 17, 2025, and Monarch Paving was the only responsive bidder with a quoted price of $111.50 per ton.
