CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement between the city of Duluth and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) to provide for payment by the city to the state of the city’s share of the costs of the Signal and Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) (S.A.P. 118-101-006) systems, utility, and construction to be performed upon, along and adjacent to Trunk Highway 23 from Becks Road (CSAH 9) to 83rd Avenue West within the corporate city limits under State Project No. 6910-96, at an estimated cost of $468,007.13.  The working fund is Permanent Improvement Fund 411, with the city’s costs for this project payable from Municipal State Aid funds, and the respective utility funds.

 

Estimated construction and engineering costs from funding:

                                          Water Utility Fund 510 - $85,073.23

                                          Gas Utility Fund 520 - $23,780.28

                                          Sanitary Sewer Fund 530 - $344,464.55

                                          Municipal State Aid - $14,689.08

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an agreement with MnDOT to pay the city’s share of the costs to improve the signals, EVP systems and utilities as part of MnDOT’s T.H. 23 improvement project.  This agreement provides for payment of the city’s remaining cost share, to be paid from Municipal State Aid and utility funds.
