RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT 23787 WITH DOWNTOWN DULUTH FOR AN INCREASE OF $6,000 TOURISM TAX FUNDING FOR A NEW AMOUNT OF $236,000 FOR THE YEAR 2024.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the city council approved $236,000 as an operating subsidy to Downtown Duluth in resolution 23-0691R passed on September 25, 2023 that appropriated the estimated 2024 hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend agreement 23787, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with Downtown Duluth, for an increase of $6,000 and a new amount of $236,000 for the year 2024, payable from 258-030-5436-10; (tourism taxes, Finance, tourism tax allocations, business improvement district).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amendment to agreement 23787 with Downtown Duluth for an increase of tourism tax appropriations in 2024 of $6,000 in order to support the mission of Downtown Duluth. This amendment is funded by tourism tax collections, and may be reduced or terminated in the event that insufficient proceeds are derived from hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
