CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into an agreement with St. Louis County, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, for preliminary engineering services for 40th Ave W. from Grand Ave to Interstate 35 in the City of Duluth. The City’s cost is estimated to be $17,910, to be paid from Fund 411, Department/Agency 038 (Public Works & Utilities), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings, St. Louis County project CP 0091-442363, City project No. 0847.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a cooperative agreement with St. Louis County for preliminary engineering services for 40th Ave W. from Grand Ave to Interstate 35. The County has contracted with Alliant Engineering, Inc. to perform these services for MSAS 110 (40th Ave West) from Grand Ave to the railroad (USDOT #251887W) in preparation for a reconstruction project scheduled to begin in 2026. The City is adding scope to the County contract to include preliminary engineering services for the City portion of 40th Ave W. from Grand Ave to Interstate 35. The City will use the information provided by these services to assist in determining the scope and nature of a future construction project for 40th Ave W. City project No. 0847, St. Louis County project No. CP 0000-655516, this work will be funded through the Permanent Improvement Fund with State Aid money.
