CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Northland Constructors of Duluth, a Division of Mathy Construction Company, for the Bardon’s Peak and Skyline Parkway Rehabilitation project in the amount of $1,719,500.00, payable out of the Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department/Agency 035 (Capital Projects Account), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), city project no. 1608.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the award of a contract for the rehabilitation of Skyline Parkway and the Bardon’s Peak Overlook from the west city limits for approximately 3 miles east along the Skyline Parkway alignment to Northland Constructors of Duluth, a Division of Mathy Construction Company, in the amount of $1,719,500.00. The project will be paid for with a $1,500,000 Federal National Scenic Byways Grant and City sales tax funds. Northland Constructors of Duluth, a Division of Mathy Construction Company, was the lowest responsible bidder of the two companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate for the project was $2,680,248.00. Payable out of the Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department/Agency 035 (Capital Projects Account), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), city project no. 1608.
