RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF MINNESOTA IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,611.20 AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to accept a grant agreement with the State of Minnesota, Commissioner of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for 2015 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant Agreement No. A-HMEP-2015-DULUTHFD-012, in the amount of $4,611.20, said funds to be deposited in Fund No. 210-030-3193-4210-02 (special projects fund, finance department, cold zone hazmat training, pass-thru federal grants, operating), for the purpose of attending a cold zone hazardous materials training conference and committing $1,152.80 as the city’s local share cost of said grant to be paid from the city’s Fund 210-030-3192-5441 (special project fund, finance department, hazmat contractor compensation).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize accepting a grant in an amount of $4,611.20 from the state department of public safety, division of homeland security and emergency management to off-set the cost of sending fire department staff to the Cold Zone Hazardous Materials Training Conference.
