Arrowhead Library System (ALS) Report September 2026

The ALS Board met on August 13, 2026 at the ALS building in Mt. Iron, MN.
• A major agenda item was the resignation of Executive Director Mollie Standford as of Friday, January 29, 2027. A firm has been engaged to assist with the search for a new executive director. During her two-year tenure, Mollie has worked to bring clarity and structure to internal operations. Her departure date was scheduled to allow a new director to step in before major grants or reports are due.
• Program funding approved for member libraries (including Duluth) is:
o $14,322 - The Northland Beckons: writing with Haiku - October 2026
o $16,500 - Bandana Makeovers Kits: 5 No Sew and 5 Easy Sew Projects - December 2026
o $1000 - History Day Hullabaloo at Duluth Public Library - January 23, 2027 (Sponsored in partnership with ALS, Duluth Public Library and the Minnesota Historical Society)
