RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH A NO-PARKING ZONE ON 40TH AVENUE WEST BETWEEN GRAND AVENUE AND NORTH 4TH STREET.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that in accordance with the provisions of Section 33-97 of the Duluth City Code, 1959, as amended, the following “No Parking Zone” is hereby established:

40th Avenue West, from Grand Avenue extending to North 4th Street. This no parking zone will be established with proper signage upon the completion of St. Louis County’s forthcoming reconstruction project, S.A.P. 069-691-034.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This parking restriction is necessary due to the project’s replacement of the existing traffic signal with a mini-roundabout. This type of intersection control requires the removal of parking from the area immediately approaching the round-about in order to function properly. 

 

This removal of parking was included in a review of the reconfiguration of parking on 40th Avenue West and was presented to, reviewed by, and approved by the Parking Commission on April 4, 2025. Upon completion of the project’s construction, this area will be signed properly as a no-parking zone.
