RESOLUTION APPROVING A STATE PROJECT WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATE LIMITS TO REPLACE THE BLATNIK BRIDGE.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation has prepared a final layout for State Project 6981-26 on Trunk Highway 535, from Duluth, Minnesota to Superior, Wisconsin within the City of Duluth for highway improvements; and seeks the approval thereof, as described in Minnesota Statutes 161.162 to 161.167; and

WHEREAS, this resolution will authorize a state project within the city to replace the Blatnik Bridge which includes a shared use path to be installed on the bridge, bridge approaches, interchange work and improvements to Port Terminal Drive. Final layouts are on file with the Minnesota Department of Transportation Duluth office. Copies of the final layouts are attached as Exhibit A. The city does not have a local share or contribution for the project. The city will enter into a Maintenance Agreement once the final plans are nearly complete, and the responsibilities are better defined/understood.

RESOLVED, that the final layouts for State Project 6981-26 on Trunk Highway 535, from Duluth, Minnesota to Superior, Wisconsin for highway improvements and Bridge Replacement within the city limits as a state project has been prepared and presented to the city, and that said final layouts be in all things approved.

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize a state project within the city to replace the Blatnik Bridge which includes a shared use path to be installed on the bridge, bridge approaches, interchange work and improvements to Port Terminal Drive. The city does not have a local share or contribution for the project. The city will enter into a Maintenance Agreement once the final plans are nearly complete, and the responsibilities are better defined/understood.
