CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a forensic sciences improvement grant from the state of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety, in total

amount of $52,724 such funds to be used for reimbursement of forensic laboratory equipment, and to execute a grant agreement, substantially the same as the attached Document A, funds to be deposited in fund number 215-200-2249 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, NFSIA Coverdale Program).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to accept a grant award from the state of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety, whose budget, attached as Exhibit A, is $52,724. This grant program is new to the city and will provide reimbursement of equipment purchased in an effort to enhance and expand crime and crash scene investigations and evidence collection. This is a one year grant, effective from September 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026
