RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT 24617 WITH MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES TRUST FUND GRANT TO EXPAND RECREATIONAL ACCESS ALONG THE ST. LOUIS RIVER ESTUARY.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

WHEREAS, resolution 23-0616R authorized acceptance of a $1,375,000 Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to support recreational access along the St. Louis River Estuary; and

WHEREAS, the work plan for the implementation of the grant funded activities was approved by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources through June 30, 2026 and an amendment is needed to update the contract expiration date to reflect the approved work plan.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to execute the first amendment to the grant agreement (City contract No. 24617) with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, extending the term of the contract from an original expiration date of June 30, 2025 to June 30, 2026.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes the first amendment to the grant agreement (City contract No. 24617) with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR) to extend the term of the agreement to expire on June 30, 2026. The amendment does not alter the amount of the award, nor does it change the scope of the project. Through the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund grant program, a work plan must be submitted for approval by the MNDNR. The approved work plan for the grant incorporates activities through June 30, 2026. This amendment will update the contract for the grant to reflect the expiration date listed in the approved work plan, effectively extending the term of the contract from the original expiration date of June 30, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
