CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to execute an agreement with DJR Architecture, Inc. for professional architectural design services for the Lake Superior Zoo Main Building pre-design project as identified in the attached Exhibit A for a total amount not to exceed $202,327.00, payable from fund 450-030-5319-CP450-20BOND-ZOO (capital improvements, finance, other professional services, capital projects - other fund contributions, city & state bonds 2020, Lake Superior Zoo main building pre-design).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with DJR Architecture, Inc. for the Lake Superior Zoo main building pre-design project for an amount not to exceed $202,327.00.
Professional architectural design services are needed to coordinate and complete a pre-design report to be submitted to the State of Minnesota in order for the project to be eligible for state capital funding.
Constructed in 1931, the Lake Superior Zoo Main Building requires significant improvements towards function and energy efficiency. This scope amounts to a full renewal of building systems, reconfiguration of interior layouts, and additional space for expanded programming.
Purchasing issued a Request for Proposals on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 and accepted six proposals. The technical and cost proposals were scored as indicated below.
