RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A FIRST AMENDMENT TO SUB-RECIPIENT AGREEMENTS WITH SOAR CAREER SOLUTIONS, INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT 709 ADULT BASIC EDUCATION, AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE MINNESOTA STATE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ON BEHALF OF LAKE SUPERIOR COLLEGE FOR EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES FUNDED THROUGH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA’S PATHWAYS TO PROSPERITY GRANT PROGRAM TO MODIFY THE GRANT FUNDING AMOUNTS AND EXTEND THE TIME OF PERFORMANCE.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute amendments to the following city contract numbers: 23835, 23836, and 23837 substantially the same as the attached Exhibits A, B, and C, increasing the grant funding to Independent School District 709 (“ISD 709”) Adult Basic Education by $12,825 and decreasing the grant funding to Lake Superior College by $24,770 and extending the time of performance on all three agreements to September 30, 2021, funds to be paid from fund no. 268-031-6228-5441 (workforce development, grant division, miscellaneous workforce development grant, other services and charges).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to execute amendments to the agreements with the following grant sub-recipients: SOAR Career Solutions, ISD 709 Adult Basic Education, and the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities on behalf of Lake Superior College to extend the term of the agreements for provision of employment and training services designed to prepare individuals with skills needed to enter into employment in the healthcare and transportation fields and to modify the funding amounts to reflect a $12,825 increase in funding to ISD 709 Adult Basic Education and a decrease of $24,770 to Lake Superior College.
