RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH ARROWHEAD YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION FOR USE OF THE WHEELER FIELDHOUSE.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, on or about March 5, 2018, the City entered into an agreement with Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association ("AYSA") for the lease of space with the Wheeler Fieldhouse to house AYSA's administrative office of the operation of its youth soccer program (City Contract No. 23416) (the "Lease");
WHEREAS, the Lease was approved by the city council on February 26, 2018 under Resolution No. 18-0099 and will automatically terminate on December 31, 2020;
WHEREAS, AYSA is the only user of the Wheeler Fieldhouse and the City desires to close the Wheeler Fieldhouse during the winter months to save money on operation and utility costs; and
WHEREAS, the City and AYSA desire to amend the Lease to: (i) close the Wheeler Fieldhouse over the winter season, (ii) waive rent during such time, and (iii) extend the term of the agreement to September 21, 2021;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a First Amendment to the Lease, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit 1; rent payments received under this agreement shall be deposited into Fund 205-130-1219-4803 (Parks Fund, Community Resources, Parks Operating, Rent Revenues).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a first amendment (the "First Amendment") to the lease agreement with Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association ("AYSA") for its lease of space in the Wheeler Fieldhouse (the "Lease Agreement"). AYSA operates a youth soccer program and uses portions of the Wheeler Fieldhouse to house its administrative office.
