AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE LINCOLN PARK PAVILION AT 501 N 25TH AVENUE WEST AS A DULUTH HERITAGE PRESERVATION LANDMARK.

CITY PROPOSAL:

 

The city of Duluth does ordain:

                     Section 1. Under the authority of Section 50-37.8 of the Duluth Legislative Code, 1959, as amended, the city of Duluth does designate the Lincoln Park Pavilion, 501 N 25th Avenue West, as a Duluth heritage preservation landmark, as documented in Attachment 1;

Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days from and after its passage and publication.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This ordinance designates the pavilion in Lincoln Park as a historic resource. On August 22, 2017, the Duluth heritage preservation commission held a public hearing on the proposal and voted 5 yeas, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions to recommend the landmark designation after having received comments from the planning commission (who voted to recommend approval of the nomination). This nomination was forwarded to the State Historic Preservation Office, and no comments were received.
