CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Lakehead Constructors, Inc. for the Woodland Booster Station Improvement project in the amount of $6,380,940.00, payable out of Water Utility Fund 510, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital), Object 5533 (Capital Improvement - Revenue) fully reimbursed through Public Facilities Authority loan certified by the Minnesota Department of Health, Division of Environmental Health.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes the Woodland Booster Station Improvement project to Lakehead Constructors, Inc. in the amount of $6,380,940.00. This project will be a complete replacement of the existing potable water booster station which will be demolished with this contract. The new facility will house two 600 horsepower vertical turbine pumps, new process piping with hydraulic surge protection, new electrical gear, and power resiliency upgrades. Lakehead Constructors, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the two companies that responded.  Payable from Water Utility Fund 510, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital), Object 5533 (Capital Improvement - Revenue), city project no. 1988, with project costs to be fully reimbursed through Public Facilities Authority loan certified by the M Department of Health, Division of Environmental Health. The engineer’s estimate was $6,669,000.
