RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE NEW CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF OPIOID PROGRAM TECHNICIAN, AND SPECIFYING CONTRACT BENEFITS FOR SAME.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of opioid program technician (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on May 2, 2017, are approved; that said classification shall be subject to the city’s collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be Range 27, $3,753 to $4,392 per month.  The proper city officials are authorized to execute and implement an agreement with the union to provide for employing one or more unit members consistent with this resolution.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The new classification of opioid program technician has been created to enhance victim response and community educational outreach related to heroin and opioid misuse.  The opioid program technician will work in conjunction with the Lake Superior drug and violent crime task force in achieving these goals.  The pay range negotiated for the classification is Range 27, $3,753 to $4,392 per month.
