CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Northland Constructors of Duluth for the Chester Park Drive Alley Project, city project number 2102, in the amount of $690,479.00. The working fund for this project is Street Improvement Fund 440, Department/Agency 038 (Special Assessment Contracts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), City Project no. 2102.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize City Officials to enter into a contract for the Chester Park Drive Alley project with Northland Constructors of Duluth in the amount of $690,479.00. Northland Constructors of Duluth was the lowest responsible bidder of the three companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $730,700. This project will replace a watermain past its useful life and was coordinated with stormwater improvements to address failing pavement conditions at the same time. During design, lead water services were discovered and added to the scope of work for construction.
The working fund of this project will be Fund 440 with contributions from the Stormwater Utility Fund (535), Sanitary Utility Fund (530), Water Utility Fund (510), Street System Maintenance Fund (290) and PFA Lead Water Service Replacement Funds.
