RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Veit & Company, Inc. for the Lead Water Service Replacement - High Priority Sites 49-52 & 94-99 for a total amount not to exceed $363,921.00, payable from fund 510-500-1905-5533; UtilB-2229 (water; Public Works and Utilities; capital (incl deprec/debt svc); capital improvements - revenue; utility projects budgeted; lead service replacement 2229 - Citywide Priority Lead Service Line Replacements Phase 1). City project number 2229.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize construction of the Lead Water Service Replacement - High Priority Sites 49-52 & 94-99 project by Veit & Company, Inc. for a total amount not to exceed $363,921.00. The project will replace leaking private lead water services requiring installation of water main extensions and connection of 10 houses to the new mains followed by surface restoration on the 400 block of N 11th Ave W and the 300 block of S 16th Ave E. Veit & Company, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the two companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $347,000.00. All project costs will be reimbursed by the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (MPFA) lead water service replacement funding. Project number 1690011-17, which has an executed project agreement.
