CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with LHB, Inc., to provide professional engineering design services for the Scenic Byways Skyline Parkway Restoration of Historic Retaining Walls from City Limits to Stewart Creek, Storm Sewer Improvements, and Interpretive Signage at Bardon's Peak Overlook, in the amount of $189,160.00, payable from 440-038-5530, SIP2023-1608 (street improvement fund, special assessments/contracts, improvements other than buildings, street improvement 2023 project 1608), state project 118-060-013.

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with LHB, Inc., for professional engineering design services for the Scenic Byways Skyline Parkway Restoration of Historic Retaining Walls from City Limits to Stewart Creek, Storm Sewer Improvements, and Interpretive Signage at Bardon's Peak Overlook, City project 1608, SP 118-060-013. The city is the recipient of FHWA Scenic Byways funding for the construction of this project, but plans and specifications have to be completed and a project awarded by September 2024 as a condition of using those funds. LHB has worked on the previous federally funded Skyline Parkway Historic Retaining Wall projects as well as the historic Stewart Creek Bridge rehabilitation project, and has completed preliminary engineering for this location under the scope of an earlier project.
