CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of unhoused response coordinator (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on March 4, 2025, are approved. This classification shall be subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be Range 30, pay rate of $62,559 to $73,678 per year.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The new classification of unhoused response coordinator has been created to coordinate the City’s response to unsheltered homelessness, in partnership with other City departments. To support the City’s efforts to prevent, prepare for, and respond to persons who are experiencing unsheltered homelessness through the planning, coordination, and execution of various strategies. The position will be in the field administering direct response to homeless encampments and other persons experiencing unsheltered homelessness. The pay range negotiated for the classification is Range 30, pay rate of $62,559 to $73,678 per year.
