CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that contract L30164 with MSA Professional Services, Inc. for professional engineering services for the Lift Station 15 Relocation project be amended to include construction surveying, construction administration, and inspection services per the attached Attachment 1 for services not included in the scope of the original contract inspection per the attached change order.  This will be an hourly, not to exceed increase.  If the city does not require the full extent of services, it will not be invoiced.  This relocation is, and to increase the amount by $404,185 for a new total of $570,992, payable from Sanitary Sewer Fund 530, Department /Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital), Object 5533 (Capital Improvements), city project no. 1803.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution amends contract L30164 with MSA Professional Services, Inc. by $404,185.  This amendment is necessary due to the change in scope of service by adding construction surveying, construction administration, and necessary as part of MnDOT’s Twin Ports Interchange project and will involve construction of a new lift station and demolition of the existing lift station.  Federal funds will be used for construction.  Due to the complexity of constructing a federally funded project, the city requested the services of a consultant engineer.  All costs will be fully reimbursed by MnDOT as part if its Twin Ports Interchange project per MnDOT agreement 1036438/City of Duluth 23884, Resolution  20-0217R.
