CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Grindline Skateparks, Inc. for the Gary New Duluth Community Center & Recreation Area - Phase IV project for a total amount not to exceed $945,416.00, payable from fund 452-030-5530-HANDHTAX-1512 (tourism & recreational projects, finance, improvements other than buildings, half & half tax projects, Gary New Duluth Rec Area).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Grindline Skateparks, Inc. for the Gary New Duluth Community Center & Recreation Area - Phase IV project for an amount not to exceed $945,416.00.
This project will complete construction of the skate park elements at GND REC, consisting of the final shaping of the skate surface, placing forms, rebar and concrete, and installing the guardrails.
Funding sources for this phase include:
$350,000 from the GND Development Alliance;
$250,000 from St. Louis County economic development funding;
$40,000 of from 2024 tourism taxes;
$300,000 from the tourism-tax-funded Athletics Venues Reinvestment Initiative; and
$67,631 in unused funds from the tourism-tax-funded St. Louis River Corridor Initiative.
Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on February 7th, 2024 and received three bids as listed below. Grindline Skateparks, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid.
