CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper City Officials are authorized to enter into an agreement with St. Louis County, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, for construction and maintenance of 40th Ave W from Grand Ave to below the railroad tracks in the City of Duluth. The City’s share of the future bid amount is to be paid from Fund 411, Department/Agency 038 (Public Works & Utilities), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings, St. Louis County project CP 0091-442363, city project no. 0847TR.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes a cooperative agreement with St. Louis County for construction and future maintenance responsibilities for 40th Ave W. from Grand Ave to below the railroad tracks. The County will bid and manage the construction project. The City is responsible for our legs of the roundabout and work on our utilities and local streets. Upon completion of the project, the City will own and maintain our local streets and the lighting system. Winter maintenance will be included in a separate forthcoming agreement with the County. This work will be funded through the Permanent Improvement Fund with Water Funds and State Aid money.
