Title
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A THREE-YEAR LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH THE STEWARDSHIP NETWORK FOR THE USE OF SPACE AT CITY HALL.
Body
CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a three-year license agreement, substantially the same as the agreement attached as Exhibit 1, with The Stewardship Network, for the use of space at City Hall.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a three-year license agreement with the nonprofit Stewardship Network for use of one desk in the Parks Division at City Hall to host its Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area Coordinator. With financial support from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, the Coordinator has led the creation of the South St. Louis County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area and implementation of an inter-agency invasive weed management strategy that covers all of Duluth. The position has benefited the City by mobilizing a sophisticated, science-based federal/state/local/tribal/NGO effort to prioritize, locate, and eradicate the most harmful invasive plant species in Duluth. The City has supported the work of the Coordinator by providing desk space in City Hall at no cost for the past three years under an agreement that is now expired. This agreement stipulates that the City will continue to provide desk space for an additional three years.
