RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO JOINT POWERS AGREEMENTS WITH AND ACCEPT A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $46,000 FROM THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, ACTING THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, TO PROVIDE WEEKLY REQUIRED RECEPTION AND CAREERLAB DUTIES AND SITE MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION FOR THE PERIOD OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2023 - DECEMBER 31, 2024.

CITY PROPOSAL:

                     RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into joint powers agreements substantially in the form of the attached for a total amount not to exceed $46,000 with the state of Minnesota, acting through its department of employment and economic development, to provide weekly required reception and careerlab duties and site management services for vocational rehabilitation on a fee for service basis for the period of September 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024. Program funds will be accepted on a quarterly basis upon receipt of the joint powers agreements. Monies received shall be deposited into funds no. 268-031-6251-4324 (Workforce Development, Grants Division, Office Support, Miscellaneous Service).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to approve joint powers agreements with the Minnesota department of employment and economic development pursuant to which the city’ workforce development department will provide weekly required reception and careerlab duties and site management services for vocational rehabilitation on a fee for service basis in accordance with the infrastructure funding agreement for the period of September 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024.  Total compensation for all work may not exceed $46,000.
