RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to purchase a 2017 Mack tandem cab and chassis from Nuss Equipment in the amount of $128,542.31, and outfit it with a 2017 Vactor VA 2100 Plus combination machine from MacQueen Equipment in the amount of $303,397.00, for a total amount of $431,939.31, payable as follows:

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of a 2017 Mack cab and chassis outfitted with a Vactor VA 2100 Plus combination machine for public works and utilities, utility operations division. The unit was built in 2017 and used as a demonstration model for approximately four months, so a demonstration discount is included in the purchase price.

The division will relinquish the following pieces of equipment for this vactor:

1) Unit 2701, a 2008 Sterling rod truck used for sewer cleaning which was purchased for $88,683 in 2008 and has maintenance costs of $32,511.38 (approximately 37% of the purchase price). Given the technological advancements, the new vactor is more versatile than the rod truck and will provide the department more flexibility in responding to incidents for all utilities.
2) Unit 2792, a cube truck used for flow monitoring which was purchased for $56,597 in 2007 and has repair and maintenance costs of $21,821.08 (approximately 39% of the purchase price). This unit has not be...
