Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes the 2016-2017 Painting of Traffic Control Signal Systems by Swanson & Youngdale, Inc. in the amount of $118,207.  Swanson & Youngdale, Inc. was the only responsible bidder that responded.  The engineer’s estimate was $90,000.  This project will paint ten traffic control signal systems located in the downtown area on Second and Third Streets.  Locations were chosen based upon condition.  These streets will also see more traffic during the Superior Street reconstruction project.  Signals that are part of the one-way to two-way conversion project are not included as they may be removed.  This contract is being funded by the City’s street light fee/tax levy.
