CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase and installation of civil defense siren control board upgrades and replacement cabinets from Frontline Warning Systems for the amount of $93,260.00, payable from fund 250-015-2024-5580; CE250-E2401, (capital equipment; fiscal year - 2025; capital equipment; Public Administration; ce250; life cycle projects - IT).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: the purpose of this resolution is to authorize the City to accept the sole-source purchase and installation from Frontline Warning Systems of civil defense siren control board upgrades, replacement cabinets to vandalized locations and professional services in the amount of $93,260.00. This purchase will modernize communication infrastructure in all City of Duluth civil defense sirens, aka tornado sirens, as well as replace two significantly damaged equipment cabinets that had been vandalized in previous years.  This purchase is sole-source as it includes upgrades to existing maintenance contracted systems as well as the vendor being the only authorized distributor in Minnesota.
