RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MATCHING FUNDS FOR MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES SHADE TREE PROGRAM BONDING GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,324.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the City of Duluth authorized the application for up to $100,000 from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Shade Tree Program Bonding Grant to remove and replace hazardous boulevard ash trees infected with emerald ash borer; and
WHEREAS, the City of Duluth applied for the Shade Tree Program Bonding Grant and identified $16,324 in matching funds to pay for trees and planting supplies to replace the removed ash trees at a 2:1 ratio;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Duluth has the financial capability to provide the $16,324 in matching funds that was identified in the submitted application with the source of the matching funds coming through 205-130-1220-CM205-PKMTCE-21SHDE (Parks Fund, Community Resources, Parks Capital, Capital Maintenance Fund 205, Park Maintenance, 2021 DNR Shade Tree Program Bonding Grant and confirmation of available funds is proven in Exhibit A.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes and verifies the availability of matching funds identified in the grant application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Shade Tree Program Bonding Grant.
