RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT THE DULUTH ENTERTAINMENT AND CONVENTION CENTER (DECC) FOR A FACILITY CONDITIONS ASSESSMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000.00.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS; the city council approved funds for a facility conditions assessment of the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center on Resolution 25-0927R. The City agreed to pay $75,000.00 from tourism taxes and received a match grant from St. Louis County for an additional $75,000.00. The City will pay the DECC $150,000.00 and will be reimbursed by St. Louis County for the remaining $75,000.00.
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center, in an amount not to exceed $150,000.00, payable from fund 210-030-3216-5441; (special projects, Finance, DECC fca, other services & charges). Funds for this will come from tourism taxes.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with the DECC for a facility conditions assessment. The City entered into a match grant agreement with St. Louis County for a $75,000.00 match. The City will pay the DECC the full $150,000.00 and will be reimbursed by St. Louis County for $75,000.00. This grant agreement was approved by City Council on Resolution 25-0927R on December 8, 2025.
