RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF MANAGER, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, INCLUDING A TITLE CHANGE TO OPERATIONS MANAGER, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, AND SPECIFYING CONTRACT BENEFITS FOR SAME.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of manager, workforce development, including a title change to operations manager, workforce development (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on March 5, 2019, are approved.  This classification shall remain subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its supervisory unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall remain Range 1085-1105, pay rate of $5,894 to $7,886 per month.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The existing classification of manager, workforce development has been revised (including a title change to operations manager, workforce development) to reflect the accurate duties and responsibilities. Workforce development was moved from a division to a department in 2018.  As a result, the director, workforce development classification was created.  While the workforce development director focuses on the strategic development and serves as the city official representative on local boards, the manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations. There is no change in the pay range, which is Range 1085-1105, pay rate of $5,894 to $7,886 per month.
