CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a training agreement, substantially in the form of the attached Document A, with Essentia Health, on behalf of itself and its subsidiaries including St. Mary’s Medical Center, to allow the Duluth fire department and the Duluth police department to utilize for training purposes at no cost to the city, buildings earmarked for demolition.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the city to enter into a training agreement with Essentia Health to allow the Duluth fire department and the Duluth police department to utilize the unused St. Mary’s Hospital to conduct training exercises at mutually agreeable times through August 31, 2024. Training in the unused large vacant building presents a unique opportunity to train for high rise fire operations, active shooter response, rescue, incident command and firehose movement.
