RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF MARSHA LUE AS THE HUMAN RIGHTS & EQUITY OFFICER FILLING A VACANT POSITION.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 29C-6 of the Duluth City Code, the mayor has appointed the human rights & equity officer, subject to confirmation by the city council by simple majority vote.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the appointment of Marsha Lue to the position of the human rights & equity officer effective February 10, 2025 is hereby confirmed and the proper city officials are authorized to execute and implement an employment contract substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, to compensate the appointed human rights & equity officer Marsha Lue with basic annual pay pursuant to the 2025-2027 collection bargaining agreement between the city of Duluth and the City of Duluth Supervisory Association, including all other pay and benefits, but excluding severance pay under Article 18 and Resignations under Article 28, as described in said collective bargaining agreement and any successor collective bargaining agreement, payable from fund number 110-110-1103-5100 (General Fund - Legislative and Executive - City Administrator - Permanent Salaries).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution confirms the Mayor’s appointment of Marsha Lue, human rights & equity officer effective February 10, 2025 as required by the Duluth City Code and authorizes the execution of an employment contract which sets forth the pay and benefits plan for the appointed position.
