Title

RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION 24-0328R AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH CORNWELL ENGINEERING GROUP FOR ENGINEERING, DESIGN AND COMMISSIONING SERVICES FOR THE WATER SYSTEM CORROSION CONTROL PROJECT FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $230,720.00.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Cornwell Engineering Group for engineering, design and commissioning services related to the water system corrosion control project as identified in the attached Exhibit A, for a total amount not to exceed $230,720.00, payable from fund 510-500-1955-5310 (water, Public Works and Utilities, water treatment and pumping, contract services).

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with Cornwell Engineering Group for engineering, design and commissioning services for the water system corrosion control project for a total amount not to exceed $230,720.00.

Resolution 24-0328R is being rescinded because the original scope had to be expanded prior to the agreement being fully executed. The new scope of work includes a pipe loop study and additional testing to complete the entire corrosion control study phase.  The work then builds on the study, evaluation and report work performed by Cornwell Engineering Group for evaluating the corrosion control treatment of the City’s water system, and provides services including developing final design plans and assisting with bidding to convert the water system from ammonia gas for chloramination to using an ammonium sulfate liquid product.  This work is mandated by EPA guidelines.  The funding for these services is a budgeted expense from the water utility fund.
