CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to purchase two freightliner chassis from Boyer Trucks-Superior for $265,430.12, and to purchase the removal of two fire engine apparatus bodies from existing chassis and installation on new replacement chassis from Custom Fire Apparatus for $563,268.00, for a total amount not to exceed $828,698.12, payable from fund 250-015-2025-5580 (capital equipment fund, Public Administration Dept, fiscal year 2025; capital equipment).

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of two freightliner chassis from Boyer Trucks-Superior in the amount of $132,715.00 each, and a subtotal of $265,430.12. This resolution further authorizes the removal of two fire engine apparatus from two existing chassis and installation of said apparatus by Custom Fire Apparatus onto the two new chassis for an amount not to exceed $281,634.00 per chassis, and a subtotal of $563,268.00, for a grand total of both purchases of $828,698.12.

This resolution will authorize the purchase of two Freightliner M2 112+ chassis from Boyer Trucks-Superior to replace the chassis from units 7354, a 2006 Freightliner chassis, and 7358, a 2007 Freightliner fire engine, for the purpose of installing the existing apparatus bodies on the new chassis. Custom Fire Apparatus will be doing both the removal and outfitting. Both units 7354 and 7358 were originally built with the intention of repurposing the apparatus when the chassis reaches 18-20 years in service.
