RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Hanco Utilities for construction of the 2026 Gas Blanket Project for Mains and Services in Various Locations in the amount of $1,329,885.00, payable out of Gas Utility Fund 520, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), city project no. 2368
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize construction of 1” through 8” high pressure polyethylene gas mains and ½” and larger polyethylene gas services during the 2026 construction season by Hanco Utility in the amount of $1,329,885.00, payable out of Gas Utility Fund 520, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Revenue), city project no. 2368, requisition no. 26-9900067. Hanco Utilities was the sole bidder that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $999,265. We think the unit prices and total bid were higher than estimated this year because we had substantially less quantity of new main. We do not expect lower prices if we rebid the project.
