RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS FROM CLAREY’S SAFETY EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $324,948.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract for the purchase of 64 self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) from Ultimate Safety Concepts, (Clarey’s) in the amount of $324,948, payable from 250-015-2022-5580, CE250-E2206 (capital equipment, public administration, fiscal year 2022 - SCBA replacement).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of 64 SCBAs from Clarey’s.
SCBAs are respiratory devices that contain and deliver breathable air to firefighters while operating in areas of immediate danger to life and health, such as inside a building during a fire or in a confined space which could be filled with smoke or toxic gas.
This purchase is made through Joint Powers Agreement C24037 approved by City Council on December 15, 2020 under resolution 20-0875R.
