CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Veit & Company Inc. for the Lead Service Line Replacement - Fairmount 1 project for a total amount not to exceed $7,789,315.00, payable from fund 510-500-1905-5533; UtilB-2248 (water; Public Works and Utilities; capital (incl deprec/debt svc); capital improvements - revenue; utility projects budgeted; Fairmount LSLR 1 2248). City project number 2248.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize construction of the Lead Service Line Replacement - Fairmount 1 project by Veit & Company Inc. for a total amount not to exceed $7,789,315.00. The project will replace 533 public and private lead water services, install 17 water main extensions, and provide surface restoration in the Fairmount Neighborhood. Veit & Company Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the three companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $9,800,00.00. All project costs will be funded by the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority forgivable loan program. If the City does not receive funding from the MPFA, the project can be put on hold.
