RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH WILLIAM J. WADLEY ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF A 1997 NORTHERN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP PENNANT FOR THE DULUTH-SUPERIOR DUKES.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the Duluth-Superior Dukes, a minor league baseball team, won the 1997 Northern League Championship;
WHEREAS, William J. Wadley was the owner of the Duluth-Superior Dukes and received the 1997 Northern League championship pennant; and
WHEREAS, William J. Wadley would like to donate the 1997 Northern League championship pennant to the City for display at Wade Municipal Stadium.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, with William J. Wadley, accepting the donation of the 1997 Northern League Championship Pennant under the terms and conditions set forth in Exhibit A.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the execution of an agreement with William J. Wadley for the acceptance of a donation of the 1997 Northern League Championship Pennant won by the Duluth-Superior Dukes minor league baseball team. Under the terms of the agreement, the City agrees to display the pennant at Wade Municipal Stadium for as long as it is reasonably possible.
