RESOLUTION APPROVING SETTLEMENT IN THE MATTER OF LAVONNE FAYE ELLIS V. CITY OF DULUTH, IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,000.00 PURSUANT TO THE TERMS OF THE SETTLEMENT ADDENDUM.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the city council approves settlement of the matter of LaVonne Faye Ellis v. City of Duluth, venued in sixth judicial district in the state of Minnesota, file no. 69DU-CV-23-1845, pursuant to the terms and conditions of the settlement addendum substantially in the form of that attached hereto as Exhibit 1.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to take all actions necessary to conclude this matter on a full, final, and complete basis; payment of $33,000.00 to be made from fund no. 610-036-1651-5841 by check payable to the law firm of Falsani, Balmer, Peterson & Balmer.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes city officials to approve and implement the settlement addendum in LaVonne Faye Ellis v. City of Duluth. City administration and the city attorney recommend approval of this settlement agreement.
