CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to increase contract L30720 with Corval Constructors for the City Hall Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing project for change orders to their general conditions work scope in the amount of $829,144.00 for a new total not to exceed $3,689,144.00, payable from fund 450-030-5520-CP2024-2402B (capital improvements, finance, buildings & structures, 2024 capital improvement projects, City Hall HVAC) and fund 450-030-5520-CP2024-2405B (capital improvements, finance, buildings & structures, 2024 capital improvement projects, City Hall Planning Department)

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution increases contract L30720 with Corval Constructors by $829,144.00 due to work scope changes. The changes consist of additional services related to modifying the building’s interior as needed to accommodate the installation of new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including disassembling, removing, and then reassembling office furniture in each work space, making alterations to electrical and utility closets, installing structural reinforcements to the central duct shaft and penthouse, removing and rebuilding ceiling grids at different heights, and adding bulkhead panels at ceiling assemblies. Also included as a change order are additional renovations to the Planning & Economic Development department, involving the demolition and rebuilding of interior walls to add office and meeting rooms, renewing carpet, ceiling, and paint.

 

This contract’s base bid is funded through an allocation from the federal American Rescue Plan Act, with subsequent change orders being funded through the City’s approved Capital Improvement Plan budgets.
