CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to purchase cold mix asphalt materials from Monarch Paving-Mathy Construction, in the amount of $63,000.00, payable from 290-500-5222 (street system maint utility, Public Works and Utilities, blacktop)
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of cold mix asphalt materials from Monarch Paving-Mathy Construction, in the amount of $63,000.00.
This asphalt/blacktop will be used for pothole patching and temporary patches of utility repairs and capping and is a budgeted City expense.
The purchasing division posted a request for quotes on March 12, 2024 and received only one quote by the closing date. Other vendors contacted stated that they were not able to supply cold mix asphalt material in the off-season and would not be able to keep the material accessible if stockpiled. The prices quoted are less than a 1% increase from 2023-24 prices, which is less than the 3.1% Consumer Price Index inflation rate. Prices remain in effect through April 30, 2025.
