RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT WITH ARROWHEAD RADIO AMATEURS CLUB FOR USE OF THE HIGHLAND WATER TOWER FOR RADIO COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the city of Duluth (“City”) and the Arrowhead Radio Amateurs Club wish to enter into a license agreement for the use of certain space on the Highland water tower for the placement of radio communications equipment (“License”), in exchange for an annual license fee of $100, payable to the city, to be deposited into the Telecommunication Infrastructure Fund, 210-030-3152- 4620.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to enter into the License, substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit 1, for the use of space on the Highland water tower.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize a License Agreement with Arrowhead Radio Amateurs Club to install their amateur radio equipment on the Highland Water Tower located at 1320 Basswood Avenue. he license fee, payable to the city of Duluth, is $100 per year, to be deposited into the Telecommunication Infrastructure Fund, 210-030-3152- 4620. Arrowhead Radio Amateurs Club is a volunteer organization that partners with Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) and Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) to aid and support County and City Emergency Management through radio communications. Arrowhead Radio Amateurs Club provides critical communication to several local events including Grandma’s Marathon and NorthShore Inline Skate.
